New Delhi, February 20 . BJP’s Rekha Gupta has taken oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath at Ramlila Maidan. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CMs and Deputy CMs of NDA-ruled states were also present on the stage.
After him, Pravesh Sahib Singh took the oath of office and secrecy.
Three separate stages were prepared for the swearing-in ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, nominated Chief Minister and associate members of the Council of Ministers, and Chief Ministers and Deputy CMs of NDA-ruled states were also present on the main stage.
Religious leaders and special guests were present on the second stage, while artists associated with the musical program were present on the third stage.
Let us tell you that Rekha Gupta was elected CM in the legislature party meeting on Wednesday evening. While talking to the media for the first time after being elected CM, she said, “It will be my priority to fulfill the vision that PM Modi has given to the people of Delhi. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to PM Modi that this honour is not just mine, but it is the honour of every mother and daughter of the country.”
Rekha Gupta has been elected MLA for the first time from Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh seat. She defeated AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes.
The results of the Delhi Assembly elections were declared on February 8. The BJP got a historic victory after 26 years. It won 48 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party was reduced to 22.
