Delhi Police arrested three criminals, including gang leader Asad, after an encounter.

New Delhi, February 13  The Delhi Police Crime Branch team has achieved a major success. In an encounter that took place early Friday morning in the Usmanpur area, the Crime Branch (Shakarpur team) injured two suspects and later arrested them. Gang leader Asad was among the injured.

According to information, the Crime Branch team received information that the leader of Meerut’s notorious Asad gang was about to arrive in the Usmanpur area with his associates. Following this information, the Crime Branch team laid a trap. As soon as the three criminals were seen arriving on a bike, the Crime Branch team asked them to surrender, but finding themselves surrounded by police, they opened fire.

In retaliation, the Crime Branch team returned fire. In the ensuing encounter, all three criminals were shot in the leg. The police later arrested them. The injured criminals were admitted to a nearby hospital.

A sub-inspector narrowly escaped death in this encounter. A bullet fired by the criminals also grazed the sub-inspector, who was protected by a bulletproof jacket.

Delhi Police officials said that gang leader Asad was among the injured. The three arrested criminals were wanted in a murder case in Meerut. They had committed the murder due to a personal rivalry. They also have several other criminal cases registered against them.

Last week, an encounter between police and criminals also took place in the RK Puram police station area. Police received information that two criminals were roaming the area with the intention of committing a major robbery. Upon receiving the information, the police immediately deployed a trap and surrounded the two criminals. During the encounter, the criminals fired a total of six shots, while the police fired four. In the retaliatory fire, one criminal was shot in the leg, injuring him on the spot. Police immediately brought him under control.
