Delhi schools ready for students with sanitization, thermal scanners

New Delhi | The national capital is all set to reopen schools from September 1. With the decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city, the Delhi government has allowed schools to open with precautionary measures. Schools will reopen in the staggered mode for classes 9 to 12. Also, colleges and coaching institutes have been allowed to reopen from Wednesday.

Schools have started preparations like sanitizing classrooms and thermal scanning of students. Special care is being taken to ensure the physical distance between students. Schools have provided a thermal screening facility at the entrance, where guards will check the temperature of the students.

Awadhesh Kumar, HOS, RSBV School, said, “We have sanitized all the classrooms and will deploy two guards at the gate to ensure proper handling of Covid after students enter the school.”

Dr. Daya Prakash, Principal, Shakarpur RSKV No. 2 said, “We want to emotionally reconnect with the students as they are coming back to school after months. With proper physical distancing in the assembly sessions, we will teach them the appropriate behavior of Covid. Will guide them to follow. We will guide them to follow the proper behavior of COVID. Students will be allowed inside the schools only after thermal screening. We are following the norms as per SOP.”

SK Mishra, DDE, Zone- Ka said, “We have ensured that all schools follow the SOP. If any student is found with any kind of symptoms, he/she will be immediately released and parents will be informed. Will be done.”

He said that we have seen that the parents are very happy and excited as the schools are going to reopen after several months.

The state government has allowed 50 percent capacity per class.
