Dhoni will not change his batting lineup: Clarke

Visakhapatnam, Former Australia captain Michael Clarke believes that MS Dhoni will not be seen batting in the upper order in CSK’s upcoming matches in the IPL 2024.

MS Dhoni came out to bat for the first time this season against Delhi in the IPL 2024. Dhoni played a stormy inning for CSK with a strike rate of 231. Seeing his batting, everyone wants Mahi to promote himself in the batting line up.

However, former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke does not think that MS Dhoni will change his batting order in the future matches despite hitting the ball well.

Clarke said on Star Sports, “I don’t think Dhoni will change his batting lineup. I think he will stay where he is. I think every MS Dhoni fan wants to see him batting higher up the order. We all have said during his career that he should do this. Not only this, there has also been talk of him playing as an opener, but see, he is at such a stage of his career where he has to step down from the captaincy. I don’t think he will come to play in the upper order.

If there is a match where Dhoni needs to move up the order, I’m sure he will do that, but just because he is hitting the ball so well, I don’t think you can put him in the top five or the top. Will be seen batting at six. He is probably the best finisher I have ever seen. So, I think they’ll continue to use him in that role.”

Dhoni, who batted for the first time in the IPL 2024 season, scored 37 runs in just 16 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes, for a strike rate of 231. However, despite this innings of Dhoni, CSK had to face defeat by 20 runs against Delhi.
