Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah killed in Israeli attack, IDF claims

Jerusalem, September 28  The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday claimed that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was killed in its attack. According to the IDF, Nasrallah was killed in an attack on the headquarters of the Lebanese terrorist group in the southern suburbs of Beirut late Friday night.

The IDF also claimed that along with Nasrallah, several other commanders of the terrorist organization were also killed. These include Hezbollah’s southern front commander Ali Karki.

The headquarters of the Lebanese terrorist group was located under a residential building in Dahieh, a southern suburb of Beirut.

The IDF said, “The IDF confirms that Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and one of its founders, was killed yesterday, along with Hezbollah’s southern front commander Ali Karki and other Hezbollah commanders.” After the elimination of Nasrallah, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi said, “The message is clear, we know how to reach everyone who poses a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.”

Israeli media reports also claimed that Nasrallah’s daughter Zainab was also killed in air strikes targeting Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut, although there has been no confirmation from Hezbollah or the Lebanese media.

After targeting Hezbollah’s headquarters, Israel resumed attacks in the southern suburb of Dahieh in the early hours of Saturday. The Israeli army says the target of these attacks was Hezbollah’s weapons stockpile stored under civilian buildings.

Eyewitnesses in Beirut said that Israeli fighter jets were flying over the southern suburb of the city and bombed residential areas several times within an hour.

Before the attacks, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagar said Hezbollah weapons targeted included “Iranian missiles.”
