New Delhi: Delhi High Court has now ordered the installation of electric meters even at a height above 15 meters. The court has given this decision while hearing the petition of a social worker Abdul Amir Ameero.

Social worker Abdul Amir Ameero said that he had applied to install an electricity meter in his closed office, but instead of installing a meter at that place, the power company canceled the application saying that the height of that place was 15 meters. Therefore, the meter cannot be installed here because there was a guideline of the Supreme Court in this regard, due to which people were silent.

Demonstration at the office of the electricity department

At the same time, Abdul came to know that despite the height being higher in a building located just a short distance from his office, the meters were installed by the company. On this, social worker Abdul Amir once again wrote a letter to the power companies in this regard, but no response was also received. The victim also took demonstrations at the office with the people associated with this kind of problem, but even then, the power companies would not get lice on their ears.

The victim Abdul Amir, while filing a petition in the Delhi High Court, also presented some such papers before the court, where despite high altitude, the meters were installed with the connivance of the power companies. In this entire case, the court took cognizance of the petition and while hearing the petition, ordered the meter to be installed on the said office. Delhi court then passed the order that electricity meters can be installed in the building having more than 15 meter height.

People upset with the arbitrary attitude of the electricity company

In this regard, social worker Abdul Amir said that he is very happy that while hearing his petition, the Honorable High Court pronounced such a decision. He said that this decision of the court will also provide relief to many people who were upset with this arbitrary attitude of the power company. Because the electricity companies were not installing electricity meters, even though it was marginally above 15 meters, citing the Supreme Court.

Abdul Amir also said that the way meters were being taken with money. In such a situation, action should also be taken against the officials of the power companies. He said that soon he will file a petition in a double bench in this case. So that action can be taken against those officers also. Because of which people were upset.
