India-US strategic partnership a ‘partnership of trust’: Modi

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the strategic partnership between India and the US is a “true partnership of trust”. “Our shared values ​​and our shared interests in many areas, including security, have further strengthened this bond of trust,” he said in his opening remarks during a bilateral meeting between the two countries on the sidelines of the Quad Summit in Tokyo.

The Prime Minister further said that “our people-to-people ties and close economic ties also make our partnership unique.”

He said that there has been steady growth in the field of trade and investment, though it is still below our true potential.

Prime Minister Modi told US President Joe Biden, “Mr. President, it is always a pleasure to meet you, we participated in a positive and fruitful Quad Summit today. I am confident that with the launch of the India-US Investment Promotion Agreement, we We can see concrete progress in the coming days.”

The Prime Minister further said that “we are expanding our bilateral cooperation in the field of technology and we are also strengthening our coordination on global issues.”

“We share similar views on the Indo-Pacific, bilaterally and with like-minded countries to work to protect our common concerns. Our discussions today will give this a positive impetus,” he said.

He also said that the launch of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) on Monday was a living example of this and that “our discussions today will give it more positive momentum”.

“I am confident that India-US friendship will continue to be a force for global peace and stability, stability of the planet and well-being of mankind,” Modi said.
