It will not be good for India if it uses military power in Afghanistan: Taliban

New Delhi | The Taliban have warned of dire consequences for any other country’s use of military power in Afghanistan. The Taliban has specifically warned that India should not interfere in any kind of military in Afghanistan, otherwise it will not be good for it. According to media reports, Taliban spokesman Mohammad Suhail Shaheen said, “If they (India) come to Afghanistan militarily and have a presence, I think it will not be good for them. India should not have military intervention in Afghanistan.” What has happened to the countries doing this is known. It is like an open book for India.”

It also denied that the Taliban have links with other terror groups based in Pakistan. The spokesperson said that they are not based on ground reality and are politically motivated.

The Taliban have assured embassies and staff that there is no threat from their side.

A Taliban spokesman said he followed the general policy of not allowing anyone to use Afghan soil against any country, including neighboring countries.

On reports of Indian officials meeting the Taliban in Doha, the spokesman said he could not confirm.

Shaheen said the Taliban appreciates India for helping the Afghan people, as well as the reconstruction activities.

“We appreciate the dams, national and infrastructure projects for the people of Afghanistan and all that has been done for the development, reconstruction and economic prosperity of the people of Afghanistan,” he said.
