Kashmir: 5 AK rifles, 7 pistols recovered with LoC

Srinagar | A large number of weapons have been recovered by security forces deployed at Karnah along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir. The army has reported this on Monday. Arms were recovered on Sunday evening.

The army said that on the night of March 28, the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police had recovered five AK rifles and seven pistols, several magazines and ammunition in a joint operation based on an intelligence report.

The operation was carried out in Dhanni village, very close to the Line of Control, which is under the direct inspection of Pak Army posts in the Lipa Valley.

The army said that keeping in mind the safety of people in Jammu and Kashmir, security agencies and civil administration are constantly working in Karnah.

In the last two years, a total of 16 weapons and more than 50 kilograms of narcotics have been recovered from Karnah.
