Tokyo | Jason Kenney of Great Britain has won the men’s keirin event in the cycling track event of the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Kenny, who also won the event at the Rio Olympic Games-2016, has today become the first British athlete to win 7 Olympic gold medals along with winning gold.
Kenny beat the silver medalist Mohamed Azizulhasin Awang of Malaysia by a margin of plus 0.763 seconds. The bronze medal went to Harry Leveresen of the Netherlands.
Jair Tijon En Fa, hoping to win Suriname’s first Olympic medal since the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, finished fourth.
