Mumbai | Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar is ill and will have surgery later this week. A top party official said this here on Monday. According to NCP national spokesperson and Maharashtra’s Minority Affairs Minister Nawab Malik, 80-year-old Pawar complained of abdominal pain on Sunday night and was taken to Breach Candy Hospital for a check-up.
The investigation revealed that there was some problem with his gallbladder.
Malik said that the drugs already in operation have been stopped.
Now, Pawar will be admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and endoscopy will be done after the surgery.
Meanwhile, all Pawar’s programs have been canceled.
