New Delhi: New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in collaboration with SPIC MACAY and SRF Foundation will organize another edition of “Music in the Park”, an enchanting evening of Classical Music invite classical music lovers to experience the beauty of Indian Classical Music in harmony with Nature at Nehru Park, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on Sunday, 25th October commencing at 06.00 p.m. onwards.
The musical evening will start with wonderful performances by Shri Shahid Pravez (Sitar) accompanied by Shri Mithilesh Jha followed by Shri Siddhartha Belmannu (Hindustani Vocal) accompanied by Shri Ameya Nitin Bichu, Shri Tejovrush Joshi.
Through the organization of such cultural programmes, NDMC aims to enrich urban life, promote India’s rich musical heritage, and provide residents of metropolitan cities with a refreshing respite from the stress and monotony of their increasingly busy daily routines.
Promotion of Art and Culture is one of the functions of the Council provided under section 12 of NDMC Act-1994. This provision gives the responsibility to Council to bring art and culture out of the confines of museums and auditoria to the open where general public could participate.
The entry for the programme at Nehru Park is from Niti Marg and is free for all. The Musical events are held in beautiful serene settings of Nehru Park where audience can enjoy free live performance of renowned and upcoming artists.
