Nicholas Jackson signs contract extension to stay at Chelsea until 2033

Nicholas Jackson has agreed to sign a contract extension that will see him stay at Chelsea until 2033. The 23-year-old signed for the Blues in 2023 on an eight-year contract due to run until 2031. He has signed a two-year extension that will see him with the club for another nine years.

“The first season is not easy for any player or striker coming to Chelsea, but I did okay. I’m not very happy with 17 goals, because I played the whole season without injuries, but that’s okay. I did well, now I hope I can continue and do great. I’m still in the learning process, learning every day, and trying to improve what I can do, and working on what I can’t,” Jackson told Chelsea FC’s media team.

The Stamford Bridge club has put their trust in Jackson to lead their forward line alongside Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku, while March Guihi is being considered as one for the future. Chelsea tried their best to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, but the move could not happen despite talks being open until deadline day in the transfer window.

So far in the new season, Jackson has repaid the faith placed in him by Enzo Maresca and Chelsea by scoring two goals in three games, including a goal during Chelsea’s 6-2 win over Wolves at Molineux Stadium and his second goal during a 1-1 draw at home against Crystal Palace. “It wasn’t hard for me to adjust to the club because I could speak English and I’m a friendly person. It was easy to talk to everyone and get to know people. The only problem was the weather but I got used to it. I’m friends with everyone on the field. It will always be like that. I hope this year we can do better than last year and win something together,” Jackson said.
