Ranchi, October 18 . Notification for election on 43 assembly seats in the first phase in Jharkhand was issued on Friday. With this, the process of filing nomination papers of candidates is starting. This time nomination papers can be filled in both offline and online mode.
Nomination papers will be accepted in the offices of the Returning Officer from 11 am to 3 pm. A maximum of four persons will be able to enter the RO chamber with each candidate. If the candidate is from a registered party, then there will be one voter proposer for him and there should be ten proposers with the candidate of an independent and unrecognized political party. The candidate cannot bring more than three vehicles within 100 meters of the RO office. It is necessary for the candidate to have his name in any assembly voter list of the state. Interested candidates will also be able to fill the nomination papers online this time through the facility app issued by the Election Commission.
While filling the nomination form, the candidate will have to submit his three latest passport size photographs, a copy of the certificate of educational qualification, a copy of the new bank account opened for the election and an affidavit, which is called Form 26. In this affidavit, the candidate has to give complete details of his movable and immovable assets, loans, liabilities, criminal record. The candidate will do all the election transactions from his new bank account. To keep account of the election, an expense register will be kept with the candidate and one in the election office. A candidate can spend Rs 40 lakh in this election. For nomination, a general candidate will have to deposit a fee of ten thousand rupees and a candidate from the scheduled category will have to deposit a fee of five thousand rupees.
The seats where the election process has started today in the first phase include Koderma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh, Simaria, Chatra, Baharagora, Ghatshila, Potka, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, Ichagarh, Saraikela, Chaibasa, Majhgaon, Jagannathpur, Manoharpur, Chakradharpur, Kharsawan, Tamar, Torpa, Khunti, Ranchi, Hatia, Kanke, Mandar, Sisai, Gumla, Bishunpur, Simdega, Kolebira, Lohardaga, Manika, Latehar, Panki, Daltonganj, Vishrampur, Chhatarpur, Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhawanathpur assembly seats.
The last date for filing nomination papers is October 25, while scrutiny of the papers will be done on October 28. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is October 30.
