Prime Minister Modi was monitoring ‘Operation Sindoor’ with senior officials throughout the night. Sources confirmed that the Prime Minister was in constant touch with the National Security Advisor and military commanders to ensure that the operation proceeded as per the plan.

At the same time, the Indian Army, Air Force and the Ministry of External Affairs held a joint press briefing regarding ‘Operation Sindoor’, in which Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Indian Army Colonel Sofia Qureshi participated. Military officials also showed clips of the attack on terrorist hideouts.

Colonel Sofia Qureshi told about this operation, “‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched to provide justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. 9 terrorist camps were targeted and destroyed. Terrorist infrastructure was being built in Pakistan for the last three decades, which is spread across both Pakistan and PoK. I would like to tell you that the first target in PoJK was Sawai Nala Camp in Muzaffarabad, which is located 30 kilometers from the Line of Control. It was the training center of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The terrorists involved in the attacks in Sonamarg on 20 October 2024, Gulmarg on 24 October 2024 and Pahalgam on 22 April 2025 received training from here.” “The strikes were carried out between 1.05 am and 1.30 am. ‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched by the Indian armed forces to provide justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and their families. Nine terror camps were targeted and successfully destroyed. The locations were chosen to avoid damage to civilian infrastructure and to avoid loss of any civilian life,” Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said.
