Our alliance is committed to empowering the poor and the underprivileged. Narendra Modi

Chandigarh, Oct 18  Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a meeting of NDA leaders in Chandigarh on October 17. In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Chaired the meeting of NDA Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers. During this, we had a comprehensive discussion on aspects of good governance and ways to improve the lives of the people. Our alliance is committed to advancing national progress and empowering the poor and the underprivileged.”

17 Chief Ministers and 18 Deputy Chief Ministers attended the meeting. The Prime Minister suggested that such meetings should be held twice every year.

Describing the victory in the Haryana Assembly elections as important and historic, Narendra Modi said that the NDA has gained the trust and support of all sections of the society. He also highlighted how the opposition tried to spread the false illusion of the NDA being anti-farmer, while it was the farmers who came out in large numbers to bless the NDA.

He has rejected the negative politics of the opposition. The public stands with the NDA’s agenda of development and good governance. The Prime Minister said that today the NDA government is fulfilling the rising aspirations of the common citizens.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde congratulated the Prime Minister on the victory of NDA-BJP in the Haryana Assembly elections. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh introduced a resolution on the theme of celebrating 75 years of the formation of the Constitution of India as ‘Samvidhan Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah introduced a resolution to celebrate the year 2025 as the 50th year of the murder of democracy. The leaders also resolved to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the birth centenary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the year 2025 in three other resolutions.

Andhra Pradesh CM and senior NDA leader N. Chandrababu Naidu initiated the discussion on the concept of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He praised the work done under the leadership of Narendra Modi to strengthen the Indian economy and bring glory to India globally. He particularly emphasised the need for cooperation among states.

Emphasising on Jan Bhagidari, PM Modi said that people’s participation in governance has reduced the burden of government. He also lauded the NDA government for directly connecting with the youth of the country and involving them in the journey of a developed India.

The Prime Minister urged the leaders to work unitedly towards TB-free India, promoting natural farming, waste management, making big cities the engine of growth of states, promoting tourism and adopting an 11-point programme of welfare and development. He suggested to the NDA leaders that a competition be organised among the cities of NDA-ruled states for the cleanest tourist destination, cleanest hospital, cleanest panchayat, etc.
