PAX president shot dead in Bihar, 2 arrested including head

Motihari | In the Harsidhi police station area of ​​East Champaran district of Bihar, miscreants shot and killed the chairman of the Dinedahade Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperation Committee (PACS) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the local people caught the fleeing miscreant and thrashed him fiercely. In this case, the police have arrested chief Surendra Singh. It is alleged that the chief has killed PACS president Pawan Gupta by giving betel nut.

An official of the police said that PAX president of Matieriya Panchayat Pawan Gupta was sitting at his fertilizer shop located at Matiriya Chowk that criminals who came riding on bikes opened fire. Gupta died on the spot after being shot.

After this incident, the shopkeepers caught one of the criminals who were shot and ran away, but the remaining criminals managed to escape. The total number of criminals is stated to be three. Superintendent of Police of East Champaran Naveen Kumar Jha said that the culprit identified has been identified as Anil Sahni.

Here, people angry with the incident blew the criminal’s bike and blocked the Areraj-Motihari road and made a ruckus demanding the arrest of the remaining criminals. Many police of the police station reached the spot. Meanwhile, the police also pelted stones by angry people.

Superintendent of Police Jha said that the Panchayat elections have come to light the reason for the murder in the course of interrogating the arrested criminal.

He said, “Surendra Singh, the head of Mataria Panchayat had given the contract of PACS President Pawan Gupta. The deceased PACS President Pawan Gupta wanted to contest from Mataria Panchayat for the post, hence the current head got him murdered.”

Jha further said that the police have arrested the chief after taking prompt action and are investigating the whole case.
