PM Modi congratulates Indian-origin Chandrika Tandon on winning Grammy Award

New Delhi, February 3. Indian-American musician Chandrika Tandon won the Grammy Award in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for the album ‘Triveni’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Chandrika for her victory. Sharing a post on social media on Monday, the PM described Chandrika’s step taken for Indian culture as commendable.

On the social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “Congratulations to entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon on winning the Grammy for the album ‘Triveni’. We are very proud of her achievements in the form of music! It is commendable how passionate she is about Indian culture, connected to it, and working to popularize it.”

PM Modi also described Chandrika Tandon as an “inspiration.” he further wrote, “She is an inspiration to people. I remember meeting her in New York in the year 2023.”

Indian-origin singer Chandrika Tandon has won the Grammy Award in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for the album ‘Triveni’. She won this honor by defeating Ricky Kej and Anoushka Shankar.

Let us tell you, Chandrika is the sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.

The 67th Grammy was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday. Chandrika won this award along with her colleagues, South African flutist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Iru Matsumoto.

Along with Chandrika, the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category included Ricky Kej’s Break of Dawn, Ryuichi Sakamoto’s Opus, Anoushka Shankar’s Chapter Second: How Dark It Is Before Dawn and Radhika Vekariya’s Warriors of Light.

The Consulate General of India in New York congratulated Chandrika by sharing a post on its X handle. He wrote on the post, “Congratulations to Chandrika Tandon on winning the Grammy Award in the Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album category for Triveni! A mesmerizing blend of ancient chants, flute and cello. ‘Triveni’ connects cultures and traditions through the language of music.”

He further wrote, “Her works showcase a remarkable blend of talent and creativity with a purpose. We wish her success across the world.”
