New Delhi, July 12 . Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed appointment letters for government jobs to more than 51,000 youth through video conferencing at a ceremony organized at 47 places across the country under the 16th Job Fair. In his address on the occasion, PM Modi described the youth as soldiers of nation building and said that their appointment is part of a transparent process of “without slip, without expense”.
He emphasized that these youth will realize the resolve of ‘Developed India’. The job fair is part of the commitment of the Central Government, which focuses on providing employment opportunities to the youth and speeding up the recruitment process. The initiative started on 22 October 2022, and so far more than 10 lakh youth have been given government jobs.
These newly appointed youth will serve in areas like Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Financial Inclusion and Industrial Development.
PM Modi said, “The departments may be different, but your aim is one – national service. Whether you perform duties in the Railways, protect the country, take postal services to villages or be a part of the health mission, your aim is to contribute to the creation of a developed India.”
The PM said that the next 20-25 years are important for India and the youth will have to link their career with the goal of a developed India. Referring to the recent International Labour Organization (ILO) report, he said that in the last decade, more than 90 crore citizens were linked to welfare schemes, which not only increased social security, but also created millions of new jobs.
The Prime Minister also emphasized on employment generation in the private sector. Under the recently approved ‘Employment Linked Incentive Scheme’, youth getting jobs for the first time will be given assistance of Rs 15,000. A budget of Rs 1 lakh crore has been set for this scheme, which is expected to create about 3.5 crore new jobs.
The PM said, “Our country is rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. This is the result of the hard work of our youth.” The youth participating in the job fair will also be given training through more than 1,400 e-learning courses on the IGOT Karmayogi portal. ”
