Jammu| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will celebrate Diwali with soldiers posted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday. Official sources gave this information.
Sources said that the ceremony will be held in the Nowshera sector.
The Prime Minister’s decision to celebrate the ‘Festival of Lights’ with soldiers comes at a time when the Army is carrying out one of the longest counter-insurgency operations in the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
Eleven soldiers have been killed during the past three weeks in two districts, which have recently seen a new incident of violence.
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane conducted an aerial tour on the eve of PM Modi’s arrival in the area on Wednesday.
This will be the second time after 2019 that the Prime Minister will be celebrating Diwali with soldiers in the Rajouri district.
