PM Modi’s resolution on Independence Day: From jet engine to Sudarshan Chakra mission, aim for self-reliant and developed India by 2047

New Delhi: On the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to make India self-reliant in every field. From making India’s first semiconductor chip to making jet engines, from 10-fold nuclear expansion to Rs 1 lakh crore youth employment incentive, his message was clear that India will determine its own destiny, set its own terms and aim to become a developed nation by 2047.

On the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi described the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission as one of the key fundamentals of ‘developed India’. During this, he gave many examples of India’s progress in the field of defense, technology, energy, space and manufacturing.

Prime Minister Modi described ‘Operation Sindoor’ as an example of India’s defense self-reliance. He emphasised that indigenous capabilities, including weapons manufactured in India, enable India to act decisively and independently, proving that national security cannot depend on foreign dependency. He urged Indian innovators and youth to develop jet engines in India itself, to ensure that future defence technology is completely indigenous and self-reliant.

The Prime Minister announced that India will launch India-made semiconductor chips by the end of 2025, reflecting the country’s growing strength in critical technology areas. He emphasised on innovation in AI, cyber security, deep-tech and operating systems for global competitiveness.

Speaking of the remarkable achievements of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Prime Minister Modi announced ambitious plans for India’s own space station. He said that more than 300 startups are actively innovating in satellites, exploration and cutting-edge space technologies, ensuring that India is not only participating in space science and exploration, but is also a global leader.

Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of energy independence, saying it is essential for the bright future of the youth and the welfare of farmers. He said India resolved to achieve 50 per cent clean energy by 2030. This goal was achieved by 2025 thanks to the commitment of its people. He said solar, nuclear, hydro and hydrogen energy have been promoted, which is a decisive step towards energy independence.

In his speech, the Prime Minister informed that currently 10 new nuclear reactors are operational. By the 100th year of India’s independence, the nation aims to increase its nuclear power capacity 10 times, strengthen energy self-sufficiency and promote sustainable development.

Prime Minister Modi said that to secure resources needed for energy, industry and defence, India has launched the National Critical Mineral Mission, under which 1,200 sites are being explored. He emphasized that control over these minerals strengthens strategic autonomy and makes India’s industrial and defence sectors self-reliant.

PM Modi stressed the urgent need to produce fertilizers domestically to empower farmers and protect national food security. PM Modi called upon the youth to develop India’s own social media platforms and digital infrastructure so that communication, data and tech ecosystems remain secure and independent and strengthen India’s digital autonomy.

In his Independence Day speech, PM Modi announced the launch of Mission ‘Sudarshan Chakra’, which aims to neutralize enemy defense intrusions and enhance India’s offensive capabilities. He urged citizens and shopkeepers to support goods made in India under the “Vocal for Local” initiative.

During this, PM Modi also gave examples of self-reliance in medical and innovation and missions like ‘National Deep Water Exploration’.
