New Delhi: Chandan Roy, Vikas of the Panchayat web series, has shown his power on OTT platforms, and he will soon be seen in a feature film. The poster of this film was revealed in a press conference at PVR Plaza, Delhi. Chandan Roy will be seen in the lead role in this film. This film is based on the story “Tirichh,” written by famous novelist Uday Prakash. It will be directed by young filmmaker Sanjeev K Jha. These three people were present at the poster launch. At the time of the poster launch, Chandan Roy said that I had read this story during my school days, but I was not able to imagine how a film would be made on this story when director and screenplay writer Sanjeev K Jha explained to me a dozen shades of this story. I felt that this opportunity should not be missed. Then, the story that came out excited me even more.
Director of the film Sanjeev K Jha said that, on the one hand, this film narrates the story of the untold relationship between father and son. On the other hand, it looks at society from a new perspective, which, in a way, is the story of a person who is losing his life and does not know. He Can’t figure out what’s happening to him. Sanjeev has previously written films like Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer “Jabariya Jodi” and Amit Sadh starrer “Barot House”. The Marathi film Sumi, written by Sanjeev, won two National Awards last year. Novelist Uday Prakash said that I liked my story Tirichh very much, but I thought that making a film on this story could be quite a challenge. But with Sanjeev K Jha’s dedication and way of thinking, I felt that a director like Sanjeev could better bring it to the screen.
Actually, ‘Tirichh’ is a lizard-like creature that is as poisonous as a snake or more than it, and there has always been a controversy over whether this is so. This story is the story of a man torn between truth and myth and his imminent death. This story, written forty years ago, also reflects the conflict between village and city. It will definitely be interesting to see such a story on screen.
