Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Papua New Guinea, PM Marape touched his feet

New Delhi| Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Papua New Guinea on Sunday. There PM James Marpe warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi by touching his feet. The Prime Minister reached Papua New Guinea on the second leg of his three-nation tour after attending the G-7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

PM Modi was warmly welcomed on his arrival in Papua New Guinea. PM Modi tweeted, “Have reached Papua New Guinea. I am grateful to Prime Minister James Marape for coming and welcoming me at the airport. It is a very special gesture, which I will always remember. I look forward to further strengthening India’s relations with this great country during my visit.

The video of PM Marape touching Modi’s feet has also been shared by the BJP. BJP captioned, Papua New Guinea PM touches PM Modi’s feet to mark the respect.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Papua New Guinea is the first by an Indian Prime Minister to the Pacific island country. PM Modi was accorded an extraordinary welcome on his arrival in Port Moresby. The Indian community also welcomed the Prime Minister.

In another tweet, PM Modi wrote, the Indian community in Papua New Guinea came in large numbers and showed remarkable affection. I am grateful to him for the memorable welcome.

According to media reports, after his visit to Papua New Guinea, PM Modi will travel to Sydney at the invitation of Australian PM Anthony Albanese.
