Shahdara North MCD Deputy Commissioner Arrested in Bribery Case, Court Sent to CBI Custody for One Day

New Delhi, March 31  Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Kumar Mishra, posted in Delhi’s Shahdara North MCD zone, has been remanded to CBI custody for one day by the Rouse Avenue Court. Administrative officer Divyanshu Kumar Gautam, who was arrested along with him, has also been remanded to CBI custody for one day.

This action came after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested both officers on charges of allegedly demanding a bribe. According to the CBI, Abhishek Mishra and his colleague, Divyanshu Gautam, are accused of demanding a bribe of approximately four lakh rupees. It is reported that the bribe was demanded in exchange for a work assignment, and the agency took action after receiving a complaint.

Given the seriousness of the matter, the CBI initiated an investigation and, after the initial investigation found the allegations to be true, both were arrested. Following their arrest, they were produced before the Rouse Avenue Court, where the court remanded them to CBI custody for one day. During this time, the CBI will interrogate both of them and try to gather other facts related to the case.

According to sources, the agency is trying to determine if any other officers or employees are involved in this matter. It is also investigating whether any similar activities have occurred before.
