Beirut, September 30. Hezbollah’s deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassim said on Monday that the Iran-backed Lebanese organization will ’emerge victorious’ in its fight. He said that his group will fight the Israeli army’s ground attack on Lebanon.
Qassim said, ‘If Israel decides to enter Lebanon by land, then the resistance forces are ready to fight these attacks.’
This was the first speech by a senior official of the organization after the killing of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli air strike in the southern suburb of Beirut late Friday evening.
Qassim said that despite the elimination of its top leadership, Hezbollah will not back down from its path. Let us tell you that the Lebanese group has been declared a global terrorist organization by many countries.
Qassim said, “I am confident that these attacks of the enemy will not weaken the resistance and we will definitely win.” He also announced that the new Secretary General of Hezbollah would be elected soon from among the new commanders.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah dismissed media reports about the appointment of a new leader after Nasrallah’s killing, saying that any speculation about the structure of the movement is rejected until an official announcement is made.
According to Iran’s Press TV, Hezbollah clarified in a statement, “Regarding the news broadcast on some media outlets about the organizational processes in the leadership of Hezbollah after the martyrdom of the General Secretary [Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah], we want to make it clear that the related news has no significance and cannot be trusted.”
Let us tell you that on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces announced the killing of Nasrallah. A few hours later, Hezbollah also confirmed the death of its leader.
Nasrallah became the Secretary General of Hezbollah in 1992 at the age of 30. Over the next 32 years, he turned Hezbollah into a major force not just in Lebanon but in the Middle East. He became Israel’s enemy number one. Finally, on Friday, the Jewish state managed to eliminate its biggest enemy.
