17,561 new cases of Covid-19 registered in Germany

BERLIN| According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 17,561 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Germany in a single day. With this, the total number of cases increased to 833,307. According to RKI, this week’s most populous country is experiencing fewer cases this week than last week.

According to the news agency Xinhua, the infection was on the rise in Germany until last week and a partial lockdown was imposed in November.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned a week ago that restrictive measures could be increased to counter the rising rate of Covid-19 infection.

Meanwhile, German pharmaceutical company BioNotech has begun the first rolling regulatory submission process for the COVID-19 vaccine in the European Union (European Union), the UK (United Kingdom) and Canada and is preparing to increase production capacity.

On Wednesday, BioNotech and American company Pfizer claimed that their Covid-19 vaccine was more than 95 percent effective. At the same time, the negative side effects of this vaccine have not been revealed.
