Covid in the country, ravaged, 81,466 new cases and 469 deaths recorded

New Delhi | The situation regarding Covid in the country is deteriorating rapidly. In just 24 hours, 81,466 new cases have been reported, which is the largest daily figure since October 2020. With this, the total number of cases has increased to 1,23,03,131 on Friday. The country is registering an increase in cases for 3 consecutive weeks. New cases are increasing daily in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Punjab, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

The number of active cases in the country has now increased to 6,14,696, which is 5 percent of the total cases. At the same time, the recovery rate has come down to 93.89 percent. Now the number of people recovering from this disease has increased to 1,15,25,039. At the same time, after 469 deaths in 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 1,63,396. The death rate has been reduced to 1.33 percent.

The Indian Council of Medical Research said that as of April 1, a total of 24,59,12,587 samples have been tested. On Thursday, 11,13,966 samples were tested.

The country has suffered the first wave of infection six months ago and during that time, on September 16, the maximum number of 93,617 cases were reported in a day and the maximum number of 1,169 deaths was reported on September 15.

Again, seeing the situation as before, the Center has advised states and Union Territories with more cases to take tough measures to prevent the epidemic.

At the same time, 6.87 crore corona vaccine doses have been given in the country so far under the mass vaccination campaign started from January 16.
