5 Pak soldiers killed in India’s retaliatory firing on the Line of Control

JAMMU| Five Pakistani soldiers were killed and three were wounded in an overnight retaliation by the Indian Army on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. This information came from security sources.

Sources said, “Pakistan on Thursday started firing without reason targeting the civilians and their facilities in the Mankot sector of the Line of Control in Poonch district.”

Sources further said, “Civilian property was damaged in the indiscriminate firing by the Pakistan Army targeting civilian facilities.”

He added, “Subsequently, the Indian Army retaliated, killing five Pakistani soldiers and wounding three. Many of their bunkers have also been destroyed.”

There was a 2-hour shootout between the two sides.

Since the beginning of this year, Pakistan has repeatedly violated the bilateral ceasefire agreement between the two countries in the year 1999.

Over 3200 ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir since January 2020 have killed 30 civilians and injured over 100 –
