3 Indian soldiers martyred in clash with Chinese soldiers

New DelhiThree Indian Army personnel, including an officer, were killed in a skirmish with soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army of China in the Galvan Valley of the eastern Ladakh region on Monday night.

During the skirmish at the stand-off point in Galvan Valley, the Indian Army colonel and two soldiers were killed.

The Indian Army said in a statement that clashes broke out on Monday night during the exercise of retreating forces in the Galvan valley and three Jawans were killed. It further said, “One officer and two soldiers have been martyred from the Indian side.”

The army said that senior military officials of both countries are currently meeting at the site of the skirmish to control tense situations.

On Monday, India and China held a brigade commander and company level talks in eastern Ladakh.

On 13 June, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane assured that the situation on the borders with China was under control and the withdrawal of forces had begun.
