Jammu | Five army personnel were killed and one injured when an army vehicle caught fire due to the use of a grenade by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday. Army said, taking advantage of heavy rain and low visibility in the area at around 3 pm today, unidentified terrorists fired upon the army vehicle.
The army said the vehicle caught fire due to the possible use of a grenade by the terrorists. Five soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles unit, deployed for anti-terrorist operations in the region, lost their lives in the incident.
The army said that another seriously injured soldier was immediately rushed to the army hospital and is undergoing treatment. The operation is on to trace the culprits.
