5 US Marines killed in a military plane crash

Los Angeles | Five Marines were killed when an MV-22B Osprey military plane crashed in the US desert of Southern California. This information was given in an official statement. The Marines living at Camp Pendleton were killed after the plane crashed during a training mission near Glamis in Imperial County, Xinhua news agency quoted Major General Bradford Gering, commanding general of the Third Marine Aircraft Wing, as saying.

The crashed Osprey belonged to Marine Aircraft Group 39, which is part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing headquartered in San Diego.

Marines are recovering the wreckage of the plane and the investigation is ongoing, the statement said.
