Harker Heights parks glider: Several emergency workers were at the scene of where a hang glider crashed on I-14 in Harker Heights near Skylark Airport runway. Killeen police initially reported a plane had crashed but during a 6 News Facebook live report, a Harker Heights police officer said it was actually a hang glider.
It happened a little after 11 a.m. near MLK Blvd. The eastbound exit to Rosewood Dr. was closed.
It was unclear whether the person operating the hang glider was injured.
“Multiple agencies are currently working a plane crash on I-14 near the eastbound Rosewood exit. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes,” Killeen Police Department posted on its Facebook page around 11:30 a.m. “We will update this post once the area is clear. Drive safely everyone!”
