New Delhi, June 9 . 66 Bangladeshis living illegally in Delhi were arrested on Monday. All of them were hiding in densely populated areas to escape. DCP Bhishma Singh gave this information on Monday.
DCP Bhishma Singh told , “The Foreigner Cell of North West district has arrested 66 members of 11 Bangladeshi families in a major operation. All of them were living illegally in Delhi and had recently reached the capital from Haryana.”
The DCP said, “The police had received secret information about their presence, after which raids were conducted in Wazirpur and New Sabzi Mandi areas, following which they were arrested. The arrested persons include 20 men, 16 women and 30 children. Investigation revealed that all of them were earlier working at brick kilns in Haryana and had hidden in densely populated areas of Delhi to avoid action.” He said, “The illegal Bangladeshis had deliberately hidden their mobile phones and identity cards, making it difficult to identify them. At present, the police have arrested them and are preparing to send them to Bangladesh.” Police teams kept a close watch in the area for several days. Information was gathered by talking to local shopkeepers and local people about where milk and food items were being repeatedly purchased for children. After intelligence information, intensive investigation and door-to-door search, illegal Bangladeshi citizens were caught from Wazirpur JJ Colony and NS Mandi area. DCP Bhishma Singh said that this special action of the district police was carried out under the supervision of ACP Ranjeev Kumar and a team led by Inspector Vipin Kumar. The team included SI Sapan, SI Shyambir, ASI Vinay, Head Constable Teeka Ram, Praveen, Kapil, Vikas, Constable Hawa Singh, Nishant and Deepak.
