Mumbai| Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Khar here on Sunday. The legend actor has been hospitalized for the second time in two months. According to information received from Dilip Kumar’s official Twitter handle, the actor was taken to the hospital after suffering from breathing problems. However, after going to the hospital, it was found that he was suffering from bilateral pleural effusion.
Dr. Jalil Parkar, a pulmonologist treating him on Sunday evening, said that Dilip Kumar is suffering from bilateral pleural effusion and that is why he has been kept on oxygen support in the ICU. His condition is stable now.
A team of health workers under the supervision of Dr. Nitin Gokhale and Dr. Parkar is taking care of him.
Earlier, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu updated her about his health. This update came through Dilip Kumar’s Twitter handle.
The tweet read, “Dilip Kumar Sahab has been admitted to Non-Covid PD Hinduja Hospital, Khar for routine check-up and tests. He is being looked after by a team of health workers under the supervision of Dr. Nitin Gokhale and Dr. Parkar. Dilip Pray for Sahab and stay safe.”
Dilip Kumar, 98, who holds the status of a legend in Indian cinema, was hospitalized last month as well. After two days, however, he returned home.
