Fire breaks out in Delhi’s AIIMS, no casualties

New Delhi| A fire broke out at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the early hours of Monday, which was doused immediately. There is no report of any casualty in the fire. According to fire officials, the incident was reported from the casualty area of ​​the hospital at around 5.15 am after a call, following which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Fire officials said the fire was brought under control soon.

South Delhi DCP Atul Kumar Thakur said sparks and smoke were noticed in a dummy room of AIIMS hospital near the accident area.

He said that all the patients in the vicinity were evacuated safely.

Thakur said the situation was now normal and under control and there was no casualty nor any injury to any person.

He said investigation was still on to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
