New Delhi: The staff of PS Civil Lines has done conspicuously good and hard work with great sense of responsibility, devotion and dedication to discharge their professionalism and busted gang of robbers and arrested five of its members.
The gang members Krishan kumar @ Sachin, 24 yrs Bobby Verma, 47 yrs Shivam Gaur @ Baby, 24 yrs Tarun Sehgal @ Tanni, 27 yrs and Sparsh Aggarwal, 23 yrs have been arrested. Cash Rs. 1.26 Crore, Gold worth approx. 10 lacs bought with robbed cash, 2 scooties bought with robbed cash, 2 Dessi Katte & 4 Live cartridges and vehicle one motorcycle used in the commission of offence recovered.
On 02.03.2022, two persons namely Govind & Narender Aggarwal were going to Rohini after collecting Rs 1.15 Cr. from Khucha Mahajani Chandni Chowk. On the way, when they crossed the Chandgi Ram Akhara red light towards the Wazirabad and reached near Majnu Ka Tilla Gurudwara, three motorcycle borne persons hit the scooty from behind. The complainant slowed down the scooty and got slipped. In the meantime, the robbers came near to them and tried to take away the bags. Whemn the complainant tried to resist, the robbers took out Pistols and forcibly robbed the bags carrying cash Rs 1.14 Crores. On basis of the statement of Narender Aggarwal, a case vide FIR No. 171/22 u/s 392/34 IPC was registered at PS Civil Lines and investigation was taken up.
As the robbery was committed in broad daylight and amount involved was huge, multiple teams of North District consisting of SHO/Civil Lines, SHO/Kashmere Gate, SHO/Lahori Gate, SI Pankaj I/c PP Majnu Ka Tilla, SI Manmeet, I/c PP Church Mission, SI Devender Antil, I/c PP ISBT along with staff was tasked to solve the case under the supervision of Shri Satender Yadav, ACP/Civil Lines & Shri Akshat Kaushal, ACP/Kotwali.
The teams initially started working on the CCTV cameras recently installed in the area of Chandani Chowk and Lahori Gate area and inaugurated by worthy CP, Delhi. Hundreds of CCTV were thoroughly checked and a route to somewhere in trans-yamuna area of Delhi was tread. Initially, three persons on a without number plate motorcycle were found moving suspiciously at the time of movement of complainant from Chandani Chowk area. It was a marathon job to identify and track the accused persons for 8-10 kilometers, that too in the evening heavy traffic of Delhi. But the team worked relentlessly for complete 4/5 days.
The case seemed to be more difficult as there was no number plate on m/cycle used by the accused persons. The team worked in a very systematic manner consistently. Team carved out, all the possible in and out routes taken by the accused. Separate teams were consisted to check CCTV cameras on all the possible routes. Inspr. Ajay Kumar, SHO/Civil Lines team comprising of SI Pankaj Thakran, Ct Ramesh, Ct Shiv, Ct Jitender, Ct Lal Singh, Ct Ramadayal and Ct Sanjeet got the clue about a gang involved in the crime.
Hundreds of CCTV cameras on the route duly assisted by manual information finally yielded result. Though the CCTV was useful for the route but beyond one point they were not visible.
From there the real hard work started. The team members used to roam around the area to watch for the motorcycle used by the robbers. The only identification was that it was black apache and does not have any number plate. Besides it marathon efforts were made to develop clue manually from CCTV footage photos. One of the suspects was partially identified as a son of one businessman. The clue was further developed with local intelligence.
It took almost two days when it was learnt that four friends have purchased four cartons of high end liquor to celebrate something big. It was also learnt that they including suspect usually assemble at one house for drinking session daily. On the very specific information of two Ct Ramesh and Ct Shiv, a raid was conducted at a house in trans Yamuna area and five suspects were appended.
They were identified as Krishan kumar @ Sachin, 24 yrs Bobby Verma, 47 yrs Shivam Gaur @ Baby, 24 yrs Tarun Sehgal @ Tanni, 27 yrs and Sparsh Aggarwal, 23 yrs. At their instance, cash Rs. 1.26 Crore, Gold worth approx. 10 lacs bought with robbed cash, 2 scooties bought with robbed cash, 2 Dessi Katte & 4 Live cartridges and vehicle one motorcycle used in the commission of offence recovered.
During interrogation, it disclosed that the gang is being named as Bobby-Krishan Gurjar Gang. They were working in a very profession manner. It all started four months ago. Bobby is a jeweler by profession and used to have a jewellery shop in Chandni Chowk. After incurring losses in the business in the jewellery shop, he started working at a cloth shop. The owner of cloth shop was father of Shivam Gaur @ Baby. Krishan kumar @ Sachin, Shivam Gaur @ Baby, Tarun Sehgal @ Tanni and Sparsh Aggarwal are childhood friends.
Bobby infused the idea in their mind. He was in dire need of money and knew that the Kucha Ghasiram Market is the place where the flow of money is very much. He does not have courage to do it by his own, therefore he decided to entangle Kishen Gurjar and his friends for the job. Krishan was the one who is respected by all others despite being friends because of his financial position and daring manners. Krishan finally decided to take the plunge for adventure and money. He motivated all others to go for it. The conspiracy was hatched and resources including the vehicle and weapon were arranged.
In January, 2022 the first heist was completed in which 20 lacs were robbed, about which a case was registered in PS I P Estate. It changed their life altogether. They tried every costly liquor and got indulge in all types of things to enjoy life.
Thereafter, they accomplished the second robbery with 40 lacs registered in PS Lahori Gate. It was found to be more encouraging for all of them. Finally, they expressed a wish that if their next heist goes beyong one crore they would donate one lac in a famous temple for blessing.
MODUS OPERANDI: In fact acquaintance of Bobby made the breeding place for collecting information. He was instrumental in facilitating the identification of gullible victims. His job was to hand over the baton to trio for completion of his work. On the fateful day Bobby reached well before time to recce. Thereafter in order to avoid any tracking the executors Krishan, Shivam and sparsh reached at the spot separately. Bobby spotted the two persons coming out of the market with two heavy bags expecting the money to be huge. He signaled his associates to follow and execute the heist.
Interestingly, at one point due to heavy traffic, the complainant got stuck in traffic and the accused persons came forward to make way for the victims and they innocently thanks to their perpetrators.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
- Bobby Verma, Age 47, R/o Gangotri vihar,Bhajanpura Delhi. He is jeweler by profession and used to have a jewellery shop in Chandni Chowk in 2002-04. In fact his acquaintance made the breeding place for collecting information and further passes on for execution to the fellow buddies. He was instrumental in facilitating the identification of gullible victim. His job was to hand over the baton to trio for completion of his work.
- Sparsh Aggarwal, Age 22, R/o Arjun Mohalla, Mojpur, Delhi 110053, He has studied up to 12th He used to work at readymade cloth shop of Shivam Gaur.
- Shivam Gaur @ Baby, Age 24 R/o Main Chet ram Gali, Mojpur, Delhi 110053. His father was a businessman and was very strict, died just three months ago. After his death, he started drinking and with his childhood friends planned the chain of robbery.
- Tarun Sehgal @ Tanni, Age 27, R/o Maujpur, Delhi. He has studied up to 12th He used to work in the factory of his uncle.
- Krishan kumar @ Sachin, Age 26, R/o Maujpur, Delhi. He has studied up to 12th He is married and has two sons. His father is quite well off and used to live a lavish life but the component of thrill was missing. Along with his friends, he decided to earn money in a style.
