Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here on Tuesday to participate in the Garib Kalyan Sammelan. People raised slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ to welcome him. Bharatiya Janata Party workers and supporters were waiting for him for several hours. As soon as he reached there, people gave him a warm welcome. The women present on the way to the Prime Minister’s convoy greeted him by shaking hands.
During the roadshow, Modi came out of the convoy and took a walk in the mall and accepted the greetings of the people. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
The purpose of the visit is being linked to the party’s preparations for the assembly elections to be held later this year in the hill state.
The Garib Kalyan Sammelan has been organized on the completion of eight years of the government led by the Prime Minister. It is being organized in state capitals, district headquarters and Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the country.
Excited by the visit, Chief Minister Thakur told the media, “We are grateful to the Prime Minister that he chose this state to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the NDA government.
” will interact with, which will be seen by 17 lakh people across the country.”
During the program, the Prime Minister will interact directly with the beneficiaries of various programs of the nine ministries or departments of the Centre.
The Prime Minister will also release the 11th installment of financial benefits under the Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme.
This will enable transfer of about Rs 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also interact with the beneficiaries of (PM-KISAN) across the country.
