Atishi staked claim to form government in Delhi

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena. After this Atishi staked claim to form the government.

Earlier in the morning, a meeting of the legislative party was called at the Chief Minister’s residence. In this, Kejriwal himself proposed Atishi’s name for the post of Chief Minister. Atishi is said to be one of Kejriwal’s most trusted companions. After Kejriwal went to jail in the excise policy case, Atishi took charge of the maximum 13 ministries.

After Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation, Atishi said, “BJP has been continuously spreading propaganda against the Kejriwal government for the last two years, but till date it has not got the expected success. BJP made many false allegations against our party. Our leader Arvind Kejriwal was kept in jail for the last six months.”

Atishi will now soon take oath as Chief Minister.

Let us tell you that after getting bail from the Supreme Court in the CBI case in the liquor scam, Arvind Kejriwal had announced his resignation. He said that now he will go to the court of the people. He will sit on the CM’s chair only if the public wants. Along with this, he had demanded that Delhi elections be held in November itself.

In the legislature party meeting on Tuesday morning, Kejriwal proposed Atishi’s name for the CM post. After this, Atishi praised Kejriwal in a press conference. She also appealed to the people not to congratulate her, because today she is very sad. She alleged that the BJP government at the Center is constantly harassing Kejriwal by misusing the investigation agencies. Kejriwal was behind bars for the last six months and even today AAP’s fight against BJP continues.
