New Delhi, The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal of ‘One Nation-One Election’. PM Modi’s reaction came after the cabinet approved the proposal.

Earlier, PM Modi wrote on social media platform X, “The Cabinet has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee on simultaneous elections, I congratulate our former President Ram Nath Kovind for leading this effort and consulting a wide range of stakeholders. This is an important step towards making our democracy even more vibrant and participatory. ” A committee was formed under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind for ‘One Nation-One Election’. The Kovind Committee was constituted on 2 September 2023. The committee prepared a report of 18,626 pages after brainstorming with various political parties and stakeholders for 190 days.
