PM Modi to inaugurate World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2024 in New Delhi on Tuesday

New Delhi, Oct 14, (Hamid Ali) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) 2024, which is being organized by the International Telecommunication Union, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi at 10 am on Tuesday. PM Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the eighth edition of India Mobile Congress 2024 during the event.

The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) is the governing conference for the standardization work of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the digital technology agency of the United Nations. The conference is held every four years. For the first time, it will be held in India and the Asia-Pacific region. It is an important global event. It will be attended by more than three thousand entrepreneurs, policymakers and technical experts from more than 190 countries, representing the telecommunications, digital and ICT sectors.

WTSA 2024 will provide a platform where the country will discuss the future of standards for next-generation critical technologies such as 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), IoT, Big Data, Cyber ​​Security, etc. Hosting the event in India will give the country an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the global telecom agenda and determining the direction of future technologies. Indian startups and research institutes are set to gain crucial insights into developing intellectual property rights and standard essential patents.

India Mobile Congress 2024 will showcase India’s innovation ecosystem, with leading telecom companies and innovators showcasing innovation and advancements in areas such as quantum technology, circular economy, 6G, 5G, cloud and edge computing, IoT, semiconductors, cyber security, green tech, satcom and electronics manufacturing.

India Mobile Congress, Asia’s largest digital tech forum, has become a go-to platform for industry, government, academia, startups and other key stakeholders across the globe to showcase the latest solutions, services and modern use cases. India Mobile Congress 2024 will see participation from over 400 exhibitors, around 900 startups and over 120 countries. The event aims to showcase over 900 tech use scenarios, hold over 100 sessions and discussions featuring over 600 global and Indian speakers.
