Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Voting on February 5, police on high alert

New Delhi, February 4  Voting will be held on February 5 for the Delhi Assembly Election 2025. Ahead of the voting, the Delhi Police is on high alert and has beefed up security across the city.

The South District Police conducted a late-night patrol, led by DCP Ankit Chauhan. The patrol was part of the ongoing efforts to ensure security during the elections and prevent any untoward incident.

DCP Ankit Chauhan told about the improvements made in the security system, “About 15 companies of external security forces have come to our district. Apart from this, police personnel from Home Guard and other units have also been deployed. Thus, in total, about 3,800 policemen and 15 companies of security forces as well as 1,500 Home Guards have been deployed in our district.”

The aim of this active patrolling and reinforcement is to ensure security and a peaceful environment ahead of the elections.

Voting for the assembly elections will be held on February 5. Aam Aadmi Party, BJP and Congress made every effort to get the support of voters till 5 pm on February 3.

All three parties have given several guarantees in their manifestos. A triangular contest is expected between AAP, BJP and Congress, which are contesting the assembly elections. All three parties hope that their government will be formed. However, the picture will be clear when the results come on February 8.

The high-voltage campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections ended at 5 pm on Monday, with all three major political parties, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, making their final efforts to woo voters.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed several major public meetings in Delhi on Monday as part of the BJP’s campaign.

AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is hoping to win for the fourth time in a row from the New Delhi assembly constituency.
