New Delhi, Feb 20 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The PM described her as a grassroots leader and wished her all the best for the future.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on his social media handle in this regard. In this, he said, “Congratulations to Mrs. Rekha Gupta ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi. She has come up from the grassroots level. She has been active in campus politics, state organization, municipal corporation administration and is now an MLA and Chief Minister. I am confident that she will work with full strength for the development of Delhi. My best wishes to her for a successful tenure.”
The Prime Minister also congratulated the six MLAs who took oath as ministers.
The Prime Minister said in his post that congratulations to Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Inder Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh on taking oath as ministers in the Delhi government. This team is a great mix of enthusiasm and experience and will definitely ensure good governance for Delhi, best wishes.
Earlier, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also congratulated the new Chief Minister and hoped that she would make her invaluable contribution to the development of Delhi.
Let us tell you that Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta took oath as Chief Minister in the swearing-in ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath to her. Apart from PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, CMs and Deputy CMs of 21 BJP-ruled states were also present in the ceremony.
Along with Rekha Gupta, 6 MLAs also took oath as ministers. These ministers include Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh.
Rekha is the fourth woman Chief Minister to take charge of Delhi. Before her, Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dixit and Atishi have been the CM of Delhi at different times.
