It was earlier expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend Russia’s Victory Day celebrations. Though no official reason was given for his absence, it is believed to be due to the security situation after the Pahalgam attack.
Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting came a day after Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh met Prime Minister Modi and they are believed to have discussed the security situation.
