PM Modi spoke to Anthony Albanese, agreed to strengthen India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

New Delhi, May 6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to Australia’s newly elected Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over the phone. PM Modi gave this information through social media platform. Also congratulated him on his historic re-election as the 32nd Prime Minister of Australia.

Tagging Anthony Albanese on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “Spoke to my friend Anthony Albanese and personally congratulated him on his party’s historic victory. We have agreed to work together with renewed vigor to advance the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore new areas of cooperation.”

During this, both the leaders expressed their commitment to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between India and Australia.

He said that in its five years, the CSP has seen strong cooperation develop in various fields. He emphasized the role of immigrants of Indian origin in strengthening bilateral relations.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global matters of mutual interest and reiterated their commitment to work together to promote a free, open, stable, rules-based and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

PM Modi invited Prime Minister Albanese to visit here, including for the annual summit and the Quad summit to be held in India later this year. Along with this, both the leaders agreed to remain in touch.

Earlier, PM Modi congratulated Anthony Albanese on being elected Prime Minister of Australia. He wrote in a post on social media platform X, “Anthony Albanese, congratulations on your spectacular victory and re-election as the Prime Minister of Australia. This strong mandate reflects the enduring faith of the Australian people in your leadership. I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advance our shared vision for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.”
