Tianjin: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned India’s thinking and policy at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Tianjin, China. He said that India’s thinking and policy is based on ‘S- Security, C- Connectivity and O- Opportunity’.
PM Modi said in the SCO meeting, “I am happy to participate in the SCO summit. I want to thank President Xi Jinping for our grand welcome. Today is the Independence Day of Uzbekistan. I also congratulate him.”
Referring to the SCO, he said, “India has played a very positive role as a member of the SCO. India’s vision and policy for the SCO is based on three important pillars, which include S- Security, C- Connectivity and O- Opportunity.”
He said, “The first pillar is security. Security, peace and stability are the basis of progress and development of any country. But, major threats like terrorism and separatism hinder the achievement of these goals. Terrorism is not only a threat to the security of individual countries, but it is a serious challenge for the entire humanity.”
In addition, Chinese President Xi Jinping chaired the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin on Monday.
During this, while addressing the member countries, he emphasized the progress and future direction of the organization. He said that the SCO has achieved historic successes in its development and cooperation, which reflects its strength.

Let us tell you that China is hosting the SCO summit this year. The group consists of eight member countries and its focus is on political, economic and security cooperation in the Eurasian region. This is the first time Prime Minister Modi has visited China in seven years, which is particularly significant amid the complicated bilateral relations between India and China following the 2020 border dispute.
