Srinagar. On the 29th day of the Amarnath Yatra, around 6,000 people made the pilgrimage while another batch of 1,974 pilgrims left Jammu for the Valley on Sunday.
Around 6,000 people ‘darshan’ inside the holy cave on the 29th day of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra on Saturday, while another batch of 1,974 pilgrims left for the Valley from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in a security convoy on Sunday, officials said.
“These 1,974 passengers include 1,546 men, 363 women, four children, 45 sadhus and 16 sadhvis,” officials said.
This year 36 pilgrims have died during the yatra.
Since its launch on July 1, more than 3.8 lakh people have visited the Himalayan cave shrine so far this year.
This year’s 62-day Amarnath Yatra began on July 1 and will end on Shravan Purnima on August 31 with the Raksha Bandhan festival.
