Bihar: Nitish government changes bureaucracy

Patna | After the retirement of Bihar Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, the Nitish Kumar-led government on Sunday reshuffled the deployment of top Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. Deepak Kumar has been appointed the new Chief Secretary in place of Arun Kumar Singh.

Deepak Kumar, a 1984 batch IAS officer, retired on Sunday and has now been appointed as Principal Secretary-cum-Advisor to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Secretariat. Arun Kumar was earlier holding the post of Development Commissioner.

Chaitanya Prasad has been given the responsibility of Principal Secretary, Home Department of the state. Apart from this, he has also been given additional responsibility as Secretary of the State Prohibition Department.

Additional Chief Secretary in Home Department Aamir Subhani has been transferred to Vigilance Department. He has been given the responsibility of Principal Secretary of State. Subhani has also been appointed as the new Development Commissioner.

Prem Singh Meena has been appointed as Secretary in the Finance Department, while Dinesh Sehra has been appointed as Secretary in the SC / ST Welfare Department.

Sanjeev Hans has been given the additional charge of Secretary in the Department of Water Resources. Apart from this, he is holding the post of Secretary in the Department of Energy.

Santosh Kumar Mall has been transferred to the post of Secretary in the Department of Information and Technology. Apart from this, he will also hold the post of Secretary in the Department of Tourism.

Ravi Manubhai Parmar has been appointed as Principal Secretary in Small Water Resources Department. He has also been given the charge of Secretary in the Department of Arts, Culture and Youth.
