Call center busted for cheating people in the name of getting jobs on ships, 5 arrested including a woman

Noida, September 21  Noida Police has busted a call center and arrested five people including a woman, who used to cheat people in the name of getting jobs on ships.

This action has been taken by Thana 58 Police of Noida. This gang used to create fake websites, put ads on Facebook and Instagram and lure people and give fake offer letters. After this, money was defrauded in the name of getting medical done, getting STCW, SID, CDC card etc.

Giving information, the police has told that on September 21, Thana Sector-58 Noida Police team busted a call center in the name of getting jobs on various posts on ships in Itham Tower Sector-62, Noida and arrested a total of 5 accused including the call center operator. A large quantity of electronic equipment, 8 computer CPUs, 1 laptop, 5 mobiles, 11 seals, 2 SIM cards, 1 SID card, 1 CDC, 1 passport, 8 documents offer letters have been recovered from them.

The police has told that on September 20, a victim had lodged a complaint at the police station that he saw an advertisement named Yatharth Group Construction and Faculty Management on Facebook. When he made a WhatsApp call on the number given in it, he was told that the company provides jobs on various posts on ships (cruise). The victim was interviewed online on Google Meet on May 31. The victim was told that he has been selected for the Mumbai to Goa ship and he will have to come to Noida for medical. For which 11 thousand rupees will be required. On this, the victim sent 11 thousand rupees online.

After this, the victim received a mail from Yatharth Group that you have to pay 38,600 rupees more. Through this we will process your STCW, CDC, SIDE and visa and flight ticket will also be included in it. The victim deposited the money in the given account number. After this, a mail came from the company that you have to join Mumbai to Goa Ship Customer Service. Police investigation has revealed that Ankit, the owner of this call center, had taken this office on rent for Rs 35,000 per month in March. Ankit had created a fake company and used to cheat through social media.
