Celebrations at Congress headquarters as counting begins in Karnataka

New Delhi | Party workers offered prayers at the Congress headquarters in the national capital as the counting of votes for the 224-member Karnataka assembly began. The counting of votes began at 8 a.m. and soon after Congress workers were seen in a festive mood, dancing to the beats of Bhangra accompanied by drums and drums at the party headquarters. Party leaders also performed special puja to Lord Hanuman outside the party headquarters to wish for victory.

They also raised slogans for the party’s victory in the Karnataka Assembly elections and for party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, party leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Voting for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly took place on 10 May. The Congress had campaigned aggressively in the southern state with Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

The Congress is expected to return to power in the southern state.
