*CM Arvind Kejriwal addresses NCC Republic Day Camp 2023; appreciates NCC’s immense contribution to the society

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal addressed the NCC Republic Day Camp 2023 on Sunday. On the occasion, he appreciated NCC’s immense contribution to the society and invoked the nation-first principle. The CM said, “We will progress as a nation, socially & economically only when we believe in Nation First ideology. NCC Cadets’ qualities, josh and motivation must leave a cascading effect on future generations to emulate. NCC Camp is indeed a microcosm of Our Country, with representation of cadets from every State and UT. Delhi as a State has always encouraged the growth of NCC and has extended a helping hand wherever required.”
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp 2023 in Delhi Cantonment on Sunday. The CM was invited to the camp by Lt-Gen Gurbirpal Singh, Director General, National Cadet Corps. The NCC DG also received the CM on his arrival to the camp under due protocols. The CM then proceeded to the Dais to receive the General Salute from the Guard of Honour (GoH). After the Salute, the CM Delhi proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour, duly accompanied by the DG NCC. Post inspection of the Guard, the CM returned to the Dais to witness Band Display by NCC Bands. Thereafter, Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited the Flag Area which represents different themes presented by 17 State NCC Directorates. On inspection of the Flag Area, he visited ‘Hall of Fame’ and further moved to Auditorium to witness the Cultural Programme. Once the Cultural Programme was over, the CM addressed the audience. On the occasion, the CM was given a memento to mark his presence. Thereafter, Shri Arvind Kejriwal proceeded for interaction and photographs with Cadets. The CM signed the Visitor Book and wished the cadets well upon his departure.
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “At the Outset, let me congratulate NCC upon completing 75 Golden years. Every step of this journey by NCC is steeped in rich heritage and tradition. NCC has literally evolved and transformed itself along with our nation which celebrated its 75th year of Independence last year.”
He added, “It gives me great pleasure to have shared time with you all today. Your training imbibes you with discipline, camaraderie, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and infuses, in you, the ideals of selfless service to the society. Our great nation needs these values in the present times and it gives me great reassurance that our youth are being groomed by NCC to be responsible, socially aware and disciplined citizens of our country.”
He continued, “I have been told that each one of you has made it to this event after a gruelling selection process. I am sure that all of you will carry fond memories from this Camp. request one of you to always remember the ideals of NCC, no matter what path you take or destiny choses for you. say this because as a citizen we must always believe in Nation First ideology and be responsible and committed to it. It is only then that we will progress as a nation, both socially as well as economically.”
The CM further stated, “You all have before you, examples of many noticeable alumni of NCC, who are serving the nation in various capacities, as public servants and business leaders. I am happy to note that the NCC Alumni network which was started last year has grown in strength. We must continue to build on this edifice to make NCC stronger. Delhi as a State has always encouraged the growth of NCC and has extended a helping hand wherever required. We assure you of our continued support.”
He added, “I have followed your contributions towards our society and towards social causes with great interest. Your stellar contributions during the challenging times of Covid-19 have been acknowledged by all. Your most recent initiative-Puneet Sagar is a commendable step taken by you all to rid our water bodies, rivers and beaches of Plastic waste. It gladdens me to know that our NCC cadets were to the forefront in honouring our Martyrs as part of the nation’s 75 year of independence celebrations.”
He continued, “As I watched you all perform today, I was struck by the thought that NCC RDC Camp is indeed a microcosm of Our Country, with representation of cadets from every State and UTs. Therefore, it can be stated that the NCC RDC Camp presents a shining example of the diversity but unity of our varied cultures and traditions. You all must be proud of this fact as I am today. My compliments, for putting on an impeccable display of drill and smart turnout during the Parade. My compliments also to the cadets who enthralled us all today with their superlative dance displays.
He concluded, “In the end, I wish all of you the very best in life and urge you again to be the torchbearers of our society and continue with your good work. Your qualities, your josh and your motivation must leave a cascading effect on future generations to emulate.”
Sharing glimpses of the event on Twitter, the Chief Minister’s Office wrote, “Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited the NCC Republic Day Parade Camp at Delhi Cantt today.  In his address, the Chief Minister appreciated the tireless efforts of NCC towards bringing a change in the outlook of the youth of the country.”
About NCC RDC
The NCC Republic Day Camp is held at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt every year. A total of 2155 Cadets from all States and Union Territories attend the Camp. In addition, 32 officers and 166 cadets from friendly foreign countries (Argentina, Brazil, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Mauritius, Maldives, Mozambique, Nepal, New Zealand, Russia, Seychelles, Sudan, Tajikistan, UK, USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam) also attend Republic Day Camp from 15 to 29 January as guests of NCC.
